The number of roller rows and the location of the inner and outer ring shoulders are the primary design differences between the N, NU, NN, NJ, and NUP series. In certain instances, they can be manufactured in configurations with one or two rows and proposed with a complete complement of cylindrical rollers (without a cage). The load capacity and stiffness are increased by the increased number of rollers made possible by the cage's absence.
